CIRAD is a French agricultural research and international cooperation organization working for the sustainable development of tropical and Mediterranean regions. CIRAD experts support academic activities at the University of Kisangani and field work in the Yoko forest and the Yangambi Biosphere Reserve.
Activities in Yangambi
  • Setting up seven demonstration plots in the Yangambi Biosphere Reserve to support teaching activities at the University of Kisangani.
  • Installation of a monitoring facility in the villages of Yoko and Biaro to study the dynamic and functioning of forest ecosystems in an area with low human disturbances and in a logging concession.
